Philip H. Woods 102 of Natick died Monday October 5, 2015 at St Patrick Manor in Framingham.
He was the beloved husband of the late Helen J (Mundy) Woods who died in 1989.
Born in Natick he was the son of the late Clarence and Marion (Hildreth) Woods.
Mr. Woods worked for the United States Post Office for 35 years retiring in 1972.He began his career as a letter carrier in Natick and was promoted to the Superintendent of Mails at the Cochituate Post Office and later became Superintendent of Mails for the Natick Post Office.
He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Parish and volunteered in many of its organizations including the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Holy Name Society, and was an Usher at Sunday Mass.
Mr. Woods was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was member of the American Legion Post in Natick.
He enjoyed travel and visiting relatives on Sundays and at Holiday gatherings.
He is survived by his five children, Mary Perron of Elkhart IN, Joseph Woods and his wife Nancy Ann of Seneca SC, Donald P Woods of Southborough, F. Stephen Woods Three Rivers, Thomas Woods and his wife Joan Mullin Woods of Portland, OR, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was also the brother of the late Austin, Frederick, Waldo and Robert Woods.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday October 9 at 10:00 A.M. in the Holy Family Chapel at St Patrick Manor Framingham.
Visiting hours are Thursday October 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, and on Friday morning beginning at 8:30 A.M. at St Patrick Manor Chapel prior to the Mass.
Interment St Patrick Cemetery Natick.
