Obituary

Clyde S. Pushard Jr.
February 2, 1939 – October 9, 2005

It is difficult to believe that ten years has passed since my father’s death. So much has happened during this time. My oldest son started high school this year, my other children are growing up almost in front of my eyes, while my mother has succumbed to her illness and also has passed.

My youngest son, who unfortunately never met his grandfather, has the opportunity to play on the soccer field named after him. My daughters occasionally will wear jewelry that belonged to my mother. My wife and I speak of both of them fondly and frequently to my children. My family misses both of them dearly.

There is not a day that goes by that I am not reminded of the countless sacrifices my father made for my family and for the families of others. His dedication and service to grieving families at their time of loss and to the youth of Canton through the Canton Recreation Commission will always be admired by our family. More importantly, the lessons he gave through his quiet example I will always remember.

I remain proud to be his son and strive to follow his example. As a family we have provided funeral services to the families in Canton for decades. Our family will continue to serve the families in our community the way my father did, with sympathy, dignity, and sincerity.

Thank you to all who remember them.

Sincerely,
Lawrence M. Pushard
