Ruth Ilene (Hiner) Tout, 83, of Anderson passed away Oct. 4, 2015 at Monticello House, Anderson after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born May 31, 1932 in Evart, Michigan to Sanger and Isalene (Henry) Hiner. She married her husband, Arlis Tout, Jr., in 1950 and was married for 42 years until his passing in 1992.
Ruth was a loving, caring and genuinely happy person, always smiling and enjoying life. She enjoyed many things; playing cards, fishing, and auto racing, but above all else, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was employed by Brockway Glass for 25 years before retiring in 1993.
She is survived by her three children, daughter, Peggy (Fred) Sweigart, son, Larry (Mary) Tout and son Jerry Tout, who was her primary caregiver during her illness. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandi, Harley, Sheri and Shannon, step grandchildren, Nabria, Matt, Mijana and Gary; great grandchildren, Bailey, Tyler, Jacob, Zyler, Wayne, Bailey, Trey and Audrey. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Alice Hiner of New Castle, IN; Karen Green of New Castle, brother-in-law, Fred (Sue) Tout of Amarillo, TX; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Carl) Buzby and brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred (Juanita) Hiner; John Hiner and Lawrence (Mary) Hiner.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, with Mark Coffman officiating.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
