Hanson – J. Michael Weixler 63 of Hanson, formerly of Mashpee, died in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday October 4. He was the beloved husband of Susan M. (Hall) Weixler.
Born in Quincy and raised in Rockland he was the son of the late Carl J. and Ann G. (Murphy) Weixler and a graduate of Rockland High School, Class of 1971.
Prior to his move to Hanson three years ago, he and his wife Susan had been residents of Mashpee for twenty-two years, and for over thirty years Michael had worked as a Technical Engineer for Globe Composite Solutions of Rockland.
As a longtime resident of Mashpee, Michael had coached many years for youth soccer, basketball and Little League Baseball.
He was a devoted husband, father, and brother and his family was his world, especially his cherished grandson Weston whom he adored.
In addition to his wife Susan he is survived by his sons Christopher Weixler and his wife Bethany of Tyngsboro and Stephen Weixler and his wife Katie of Brockton, his grandson Weston, his siblings Carol Cook and her husband Gary of Hanson, Richard Weixler and his wife Robyn of Hanson, Timothy Weixler and his wife Carol Ann of Whitman, Carl Weixler of Maryland, John Weixler and his wife Eileen of Rockland and Jody Weixler of Abington. He is also survived by his in-laws Sandy Tamborella of Brockton, Sharon & Jeffrey Hill of Abington, Stephen & Ginger Hall of Rockland, Jacquie Hall-Sheehan of Rockland and Janice Hall-Sheehan of Whitman as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday October 7 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, Rockland. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday October 6 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
