Alanna Jane McGilvery
Alanna Jane McGilvery, 67, of Gilford died after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at The Hospice House in Concord.
Alanna was born on September 9, 1937 on Port Jefferson, Long Island, NY. She spent her youth in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Prior to moving to New Hampshire Alanna had lived in New York City for a period of time.
A longtime employee of B. Mae’s Resort in Gilford she had lived in the Lakes Region for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband Edwin Gile of Laconia, her brother and his family, Jay McGilvery and his wife Sandra, as well as their children Susan, Tyler, and Darcy of Vancouver.
We have been blessed to have known and loved her. We will miss her and remember her fondly.
A celebration of Alanna’s life will be held at Willow’s Steak & Spirits located at the former Dexter Plaza, 36 Endicott Street, Weirs Beach on Friday, May 27, 2005, 5pm-8pm. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in the family lot in Capilano Cemetery, West Vancouver, Canada.
