Yvonne Cometh Gilvar, formerly of Weston and Sharon , age 69, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of her own home, in the early hours of September 28th.
Born in Stockholm, Sweden on June 6th, 1946, daughter of the late Tage and Eve (Gustafsson) Cometh, Yvonne grew up in Vallingby, Sweden. Yvonne met the love of her life, David Gilvar, in Mallorca, Spain in 1969; they married in Stockholm in 1970.
Yvonne and David moved to Weston, MA with their children in 1979.
Though Yvonne worked for Liberty Mutual as an executive assistant for 5 years, her true passion in life was caring for her adoring family. She was a homemaker truly beyond compare, a master chef, a devoted and doting wife, and she was the most loving mother a child could have hoped for, like none other.
Yvonne was a committed member of the Swedish Women’s Educational Association (SWEA.) She enjoyed dancing at parties, taking walks with her friends, gardening, and especially caring for her furry four-legged sons Puggles and Milo.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Fitzgerald and her husband David, and her son, Adam Gilvar and his wife Claire. She also is survived by 4 grandchildren, Linnea, Carina, Chloe and Reece.
She was the sister of Goran Cometh.
Yvonne was an undeniably special person, with a beautiful spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her stunning physical beauty was more than matched with an inner kindness, compassion and sincerity that will never be forgotten by those who knew her. Her aura was golden, and it always glowed brightly. The world is a less beautiful place without her, and she will forever be missed.
A celebration of her life will be held sometime in November, details to follow.
