Shirley M. Houle, 91, of Riverside Avenue, Johnston, died Wednesday at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the widow of Joseph G. “Junior” Houle.
Born in Burrillville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mable (White) Clarke. She had lived in Johnston for over 69 years. She enjoyed reading, visiting with her friends, watching the Red Sox and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn Snell and her husband, David of Smithfield, Nancy Jeranka of North Scituate, Deborah Ciotola and her husband, Paul of Chepachet, Donna Houle of Johnston and Thomas Houle and his wife, Adrianne of Providence, her seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. She is predeceased by HEr sister, Doris Theroux, her brother, Edgar Clarke, and her son-in-law James Jeranka.
Her funeral service was held Friday, September 25, 2015 in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home followed by burial in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
