Alona Taylor, 70, passed away Monday morning, September 28, 2015 at her residence.
She was born April 11, 1945 in Nicholas County, West Virginia and moved to Jacksonville 40 years ago.
She was of the Baptist faith. Alona retired from the King Edward Cigar Factory after working there 38 years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and shopping. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Taylor; two sons, Mike Jones and Sean Jones; a sister, Loraine Lindquist and her husband, Larry; three grandchildren, Sean Jones, Jr., Shane Jones and Sheree Jones; and three great grandchildren, Brian, Neveh and Alana.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Green Pine Cemetery in Yulee with Rev. Doug Sides of Yulee Baptist Church officiating.
