Obituary

BEVERLY FARMS: Evans “Roddy” Dick III, 63, died peacefully from a long illness on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Beverly on March 7, 1952, he was the son of the late Evans R. Dick, II and Estelle (Skibb) Dick. He was a graduate of St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Following graduation, he moved to New York City to join a Wall Street firm, where he worked for several years.
An avid gold enthusiast and believing it to be the future of the economic system, he founded, ARDIC, a gold mining firm. The firm’s purpose was to buy and reopen closed gold mines in Canada to see it’s potential. As the price of gold crashed, he liquidated and moved to Gloucester, where he started a fresh water company. He later retired due to ill health.
Roddy is survived by his sister, Phyllis Dick Morgan of Paris, France, a nephew and several nieces and cousins.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale St., Beverly Farms at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.
