Obituary

George William “Bud” Jansen Sr., 95, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Church, and had worked as a Lithographer for the Courier-Journal Lithographing, He retired as a foreman of the Printing Plant with the Ft. Knox Civil Service, He was an Army veteran of W.W. II.
Bud was a member of Knights of Columbus-Newman Council, Past Commander and life member of the American Legion Post #220, life member of VFW Post # 5421, City Clerk of Shively and also for the city of Shively ABC Administrator, Field Agent Park Commissioner, Tax Accessor, St. Joseph Orphans Society, Kentucky Colonel, St. Barnabas Golden Key Club and Volunteer of Shively Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernita (Cook) Jansen; two sisters, Margaret Spaulding and Dorothy Kaufling.
Bud is survived by his children, Janice E. Train (David), Susan M. Watkins (Huel), George W. Jansen Jr. (Mary) and Kay M. Short (David); eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral mass is Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
