SALEM - Joseph Anthony Wronkowski, 73, of Salem, beloved husband of the late Linda J. (Chalifour) Wronkowski died unexpectedly on Friday, September 25, 2015 at home.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Elita A. (Cruddas) Wronkowski. Joe was a resident of Salem for most of his life, a loving father, grandfather, and dedicated husband.
He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1962, was stationed in Germany with the 7th Cavalry and attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
Joe was employed by Lightolier in Wilmington for over 35 years until his retirement.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Gold Wing Association, and enjoyed time on his motorcycle traveling through the back roads of New England. With a passion for auto racing which began in his youth, he spent his Saturday nights at the race track in Epping, New Hampshire watching the current racers and reminiscing about his own days of racing.
He was survived by two sons; Joseph A. and his wife Gloria Wronkowski of Madisonville, LA; Daniel R. and his wife Gina Wronkowski of Salem,; and one daughter Kathleen L. and Robert Smales of Danvers; six grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Jack, Angelica, Isabella, and Thomas; two brothers John Wronkowski and Jim Wronkowski of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews; He was the brother of the late Peggy O’Neil.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no other services.
