O’TOOLE, Lawrence Phillip Sr., longtime resident of Dedham, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away Sept. 26, 2015 at Briarwood Nursing Home, Needham. He was 78.
Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Canney) O’Toole. Devoted father of Lawrence P. O’Toole Jr., and his wife Karen of Attleboro, Joseph M. O’Toole of Portsmouth, RI., Allan D. O’Toole and his wife Deborah of Franklin and James T. O’Toole and his wife Terri of Medway. Loving grandfather of Thomas, Samantha, Joshua, Ryan, Kristen, Nicholas, and Cameron.
Son of the late Joseph and Mary (Saltis) O’Toole. Brother of Joseph O’Toole and his wife Pat of Jamaica Plain.
Lawrence retired from the Boston Gas Company where he worked for 42 years. He loved to spend weekends deep sea fishing. He was a jack of all trades around the home and would be found frequently puttering around his house in Dedham and for a number of years a cottage he owned in New Hampshire. He was a beloved father, mentor to his children, loving grandfather, brother and uncle.
Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham, Tuesday Sept. 29th at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours omitted. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lawrence’s memory to The Alzheimer's Assoc., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
