Josephine A. Johnson, age 84, of Woburn formerly of East Boston, passed away May 21st following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl E. Johnson. Born in Charlestown she was the daughter of the late Gemma (Ciullo) and Joseph Vitale.
Mrs. Johnson was a Woburn resident since 1959. She worked for a number of years as an assembler for an electronics company. She was an active parishioner of St. Anthony Church and also enjoyed gardening and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. It Has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Josephines memory to the Visiting Nurse & Community Health, 37 Broadway, Arlington, MA 02474.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Josephine is preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Barber, Antoinette Vitale and Edith Barry. She is survived by her daughter Eileen M. Johnson of Woburn, sons; Roy C. Johnson of Woburn and Donald M. Johnson of Lexington. She is also survived by her sister, Mary McCarty of Scituate.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church 851 Main St. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will cocnlude with burial at woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
