Mary G. Argentati, 89, of Cherry Valley died peacefully in her sleep on Monday September 21, at the Millbury Health Care Center. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Charles F. Argentati. She leaves three sons, Merico Argentati and his wife Shannon of Centennial, CO; James Argentati of Lyme Center, NH; and John Argentati and his wife Carolyn of Raleigh, NC. She leaves a granddaughter, Angela Argentati of Seattle, WA. She also leaves a sister, Elizabeth Chenevert of North Brookfield, MA.
Mrs. Argentati was born to John McKeon and Ellen McKeon (Dumas) in Paxton, MA on October 27, 1925, and was one of eleven children. She graduated from Leicester High School and earned her licensed practical nursing (LPN) degree from the Worcester City Hospital in 1970. She worked as a nurse at Worcester City Hospital, Clark Manor Nursing Home, The Saint Francis Home, and a number of other medical institutions.
She was a wonderful mother, a dedicated wife, a very caring and competent nurse, and an excellent homemaker. She was compassionate, thoughtful, generous, and empathetic and always had a kind word to say. She had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude toward life and told her children that they could achieve anything they set out to do. She instilled in her sons a profound love and enjoyment of nature. She loved learning and enjoyed needlework, sewing, reading, Scrabble, card games, and classic movies. For many years, she was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester. She will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Entombment will immediately follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.
