Betty Fong Woo
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, September 23, 2015, Mrs. Betty Fong Woo, 90, wife of 47 years to the late Mr. Willie Hon Woo.
Mrs. Woo was a native of Cleveland, OH but lived in Augusta for many years. She was a lunchroom attendant from 1975 until 1985 at Westside High School. She worked with her husband at W. Hon Woo Grocery on Hicks Street for 30 years and also in concessions at the Masters for several years. Mrs. Woo enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Family members include children: Pauline Saito (George) of Aiea, HI, Douglas Woo (Sue Jane) of El Paso, TX, Franklin Woo (Lilly) of Huntington Beach, CA, Paulette Hamada (Jim) of Los Angeles, CA, Deborah Woo, Rhonda Woo and Donna Woo all of Augusta, GA; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904-4699.
