Obituary

WAYLAND: Gertrude Alice (Fuller) Damon, 94, died comfortably at her residence in Wayland on September 5, 2015 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Medford on November 3, 1920 the daughter of the late Charles P. Fuller and Gertrude Alice (Golden) Fuller.
She is survived by her children; Richard Thomas Damon of Wayland; Carol Ann Damon of Peabody and Nancy Blair Adcock and her husband Lealon Clyde Adcock of Monroe, CT. She was the grandmother of Robyn Elizabeth Adcock and her longtime partner Brad James Dubin of Berkeley, CA; Stephen Lee Adcock and his wife Kelly Peterson Adcock of Norwalk, CT; Ryan Matthew Damon of Wayland and Ethan Patrick Damon of Natick. Great-grandmother of Alexis Lee Adcock, Azlan Xavier Dubin and Tajah Blue Ocean Dubin. Gertrude was the wife of the late Edward Thomas Damon, Jr. who died on September 23, 1983, mother of the late Edward Thomas Damon, III who died on February 1, 1977 and mother-in-law of Janice Ann (O’Rourke) Damon who died on June 24, 2015.
Gertrude has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1938. For many years, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Kathryn Barton Nursing Home in Wayland before retiring. She loved antiquing, attending yard sales and enjoyed painting as a hobby. She was devoted to her family who was the center of her life and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Private family services and interment were held at the Damon family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland on September 15, 2015 with the Reverend John Loker, a close and personal family friend officiating.
Memorial donations in Gertrude’s memory may be sent to Parmenter Homecare and Hospice, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778.
