John D. Walker, age 49, of Franklin died suddenly September 22. He was the beloved husband of Ellen M. (MacDougall) and loving father of Hannah and Matthew.
Born in Natick, April 28, 1966, he was the son of Robert J. and Esther (Mortarelli) Walker of Medway.
Mr. Walker was raised in Medway and had lived in Franklin for the past 18 years.
He was a 1984 graduate of Medway High School and had attended University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Suffolk University.
Mr. Walker had been a financial consultant - Vice President for Charles Schwab & Co in Chestnut Hill for the past 15 years.
John had been very active in his children's lives. He was a cub scout leader and an assistant hockey coach for the Franklin Flyers. He spent many hours taking his daughter to dance lessons and loved to watch her perform.
He enjoyed family vacations, jet skiing and trips to Cape Cod.
John's life was all about his family.
He is also survived by his 5 brothers, Robert and his wife Carolyn of Dallas, Tx, , William and his wife Grace of Medway, Richard of Medway, Christopher and his wife Michelle of Phoenix, AZ and Timothy and his husband Gallagher Lawson of Los Angeles, California.
He is also survived by his mother in law, Ellen MacDougall of West Roxbury, his brother in law, Leo MacDougall and his wife Stacey Hurley of West Roxbury, sister in law Christine MacDougall and her husband Joseph Scanlon of Franklin and his former sister in law, Lisa Osborne Walker of Medway.
He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held on Monday, September 28 from the Ginley Funeral home of Franklin (www.ginleyfunerahomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's Church at 10:00. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 - 8 pm in the funeral home.
