Eloise Tyler, 94, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Ocilla, Georgia, and Winter Haven, Florida, passed from this life on Monday, September 21, 2015, at Carriage Inn in Katy, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Rob Dowdle officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the service hour at the chapel.
Mrs. Tyler was born December 5, 1920, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late James L. and Nancy Gertrude Hutchinson Turner. Mrs. Tyler began and ended her working career outside of her home as a teacher, but for most of her life dedicated herself to being a loving wife and mother. She loved to read, garden, sew and enjoyed needlework. Eloise and her husband Raymond moved to Houston in 2003 where she was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a former member of Ocilla Baptist Church in Ocilla.
She is survived by her children: Ellen T. Rochelle and husband Michael Mooney of Cypress, Texas; Jeanne T. Propst & Chuck of Ocilla; grandchildren: Ross Vegter, Ray Vegter, Anya Rochelle and Russ Rochelle; two great-grandchildren: Kael Vegter and Kasen Vegter and a sister: Irene T. Morrow & Enoch of Cumming. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond R. Tyler; one sister and three brothers.
