Gilmanton-----Ralph David Neff, age 85, died on Friday September 18, 2015 at the Genesis Laconia Healthcare Center in Laconia, NH. Ralph was born on July 9, 1930, in Milton, MA and graduated from Milton High School. He also attended Northeastern University, majoring in electrical engineering.
Ralph honorably served his country from 1951-1954 during the Korean War, reaching the rank of Army Sergeant. He worked at Vernitron for many years as a production designer for electric connectors resulting in a few patents. Upon retirement, he volunteered at the Lakes Region General Hospital. He enjoyed sailing. especially racing his H boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. He and his wife Janet made many trips to other countries and traveled around the U.S. in their RV. Ralph also kept a lovely garden and enjoyed cross country skiing, hiking and biking.
Aside from his wife of 28 years Janet (Dodge) Neff, Ralph is survived by his step-son Clifford Miller, his granddaughters Jessica and Shaina Miller and Several Nieces and Nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Minnie Neff, his two sisters Marian Anderson and Ruth Bent and his brother Gordon Neff.
Per Ralph's wishes, there will be a celebration of his life at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ralph's name to The David Adams Sailing Center, PO Box 7047 Gilford, NH 03249.
