Obituary

Joseph E. Finneran, 65, of Walpole died September 12 in the West Roxbury VA Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margery (Brown) Finneran who died ten days earlier.
Born in Brighton, July 31, 1950, the son of Mary Lou (Risch) Hanlon of Vero Beach, Florida and the late Thomas Finneran, Mr. Finneran had lived most of his life in Walpole.
He was a 1969 graduate of Walpole High School.
Joe “Finn” had many passions. He was a talented artist and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid reader of history and archeology and was a member of A.S. A.A.
Mr. Finneran proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal.
He is survived by his siblings, Robert Finneran of Walpole, Mimi Finneran of Vero Beach, Florida, Nancy Maxwell and her husband Charles of Jonas Ridge, North Carolina, Sheila Creighton and her husband Jack and Gail Finneran of Vero Beach, Florida. He was the father of the late Emily Finneran and brother of the late John and Tommy Finneran.
He is also survived by his nephew Tyler Simpson of Vero Beach, Florida, and his nieces Mimi Simpson of Vero Beach, Florida, Mary Sue Werts and her husband Seth and Katie Finneran of Findley, Ohio.
He is also survived by his great nephew Elijah Finn Werts of Findlay, Ohio.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 1 in the Ginley Funeral Home, (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.) 892 Main Street, Walpole from
6: 00-8: 00p.m.
A service will be held at 7: 30 p.m.
Burial with full military honors will be held on Friday, October 2 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. His wife Margery will be buried by his side.

Although he passed too soon, he loved life and lived it to its fullest. Joe will be missed immeasurably.
