Wynelle McCook Harper, 88, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Harper Family Cemetery in Wray with Bro. Shane Knight officiating. Memorial services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fitzgerald with Bro. Jim Leedy officiating.
Mrs. Harper was born October 15, 1926, in Eustis, Florida, to the late Buddy & Nellie McCook. She attended school in Broxton and worked as a welder at the shipyards in Brunswick during World War II. She retired as postmaster from the Wray post office. She loved to fish and farm and was a hard worker all of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Harper of Fitzgerald; a son-in-law, Roger Lowery of Wray; grandchildren and their spouses: Eric & Barbara Lowery of Wray, Katie & Justin Knight of Cadwell, and Brad & Dee Dee Lowery of Wray; great-grandchildren: Ean Lowery, Drew Lowery, Callie Lowery, Kiah Lowery, Roman Knight, and Jaxon Knight; and a sister, Myrtle McCook Stevens of Douglas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paxton Harper; her daughter, Teresa Harper Lowery; and two brothers.
