Vincent M. Walsh, Jr., 85, of Wrentham formerly of Shrewsbury and Yarmouth, died September 19 in the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Westborough. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Hanlan) Walsh and the late Ann (Patts) Walsh.
Born in Worcester, June 23, 1930, the son of the late Vincent M. and Mabel (Dwyer) Walsh, Mr. Walsh was raised in Worcester and had lived in Shrewsbury for many years before retiring to Yarmouth.
He was a graduate of Worcester Vocational-Technical High School.
He had worked for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for 32 years before retiring as a foreman.
Vincent took up doing landscape painting after his retirement and became a very accomplished artist.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War attaining the rank of Boatswain Mate Third Class.
He is survived by his daughters, Maryanne Ward and her husband Terrence of Wrentham and Susan Jakubowski of Dudley.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Juliana J. Ward, Terrance M. Ward, Jr, Jennifer M. Jakubowski and John C. Jakubowski, Jr.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 24 in St. Mary’s Church, Wrentham at 11:00a.m.
Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00-10:30 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
