ALLEN “TEX” ARNOLD
Allen F. “Tex” Arnold, 66, of Rte. 184, Old Mystic, died Saturday morning at Mariner Healthcarein Mystic after a brief illness.
He was born in Quaimbaug on May 4, 1936 the son of Elmer H. and Mary (Arnold) Richards. After his receiving his education, he served in the US Army Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a maintenance Supervisor for the Groton Board of Education.
He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and the American Legion Post # 114 in Groton. He was also a life member of the Mystic Hook & Ladder Co. and the Old Mystic Fire Police Assoc.
He is survived by seven children, Linda Sylvia of Ashaway, Debra Morgan of Griswold, Deidra Murphy of Charlestown, RI Brenda Markel-Cook of Norton, MA, Russell Arnold of Colorado Springs, Col., Eddie Arnold of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Audra Lester of Griffin, Ga, 13 grandchildren, a brother, Anthony Richards of Pawcatuck, a cousin, Darryl Williams of Gales Ferry and a special niece, Donna Hood of Bradford, RI and his former wife, Betty Rita Chesbro-Kinney of Ashaway, RI.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic on Monday evening from 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Mystic on Tuesday at l:00pm. Burial will be private at St. Patrick Cemetery.
