Lilla Ann (Dunham) Hayden, 93, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away of natural causes on September 15, 2015. Her family, friends and community were of great importance to her throughout her life.
Lilla enjoyed a long and full life that included travel, serving as a Framingham Town Meeting Member, and as a Framingham School Board Candidate. She worked for the Framingham Schools Cafeteria Services for many years. She was instrumental in initiating the Association Contract for the Town of Framingham School Cafeteria Workers.
She was born December 4, 1921 to Mabel and Leonard Dunham in Framingham. She was the older sister to Helen (Dunham) Travis and Leonard Dunham Jr. She married David S. Hayden on January 9, 1940 and they resided primarily in Framingham where they raised their family and lived in retirement.
Over the years, she especially enjoyed back yard BBQ’s by the pool with family and friends at her home on Maureen Road. In particular she relished her many trips to Southern California to visit her daughter and family. In addition she was an avid world traveler visiting many destinations including Europe and Asia.
Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years David Hayden and daughter Kandi E. Hayden. She is survived by her two daughters Sandra McLaughlin and Sherri Anderson, her five grandchildren, Amanda Anderson McCarty, Lisa McLaughlin Augerson, Jamie Anderson, David McLaughlin, Douglas McLaughlin, sister Helen Travis and brother Leonard Dunham, nine great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
She will be missed by all as the matriarch of the family.
It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 10, 2015 at 2:00 at 22 Brookfield Terrace Framingham.
