Evans, GA – Willis “Bill” A. Herbert, Jr., 77, beloved husband of 57 years to Ophelia Herbert, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Mark Maund officiating. Burial will be private.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 12 years. He took much pride in being the successful owner and operator of W.A. Herbert Floor Covering and Bill Herbert Builders, Inc. Bill was a faithful member of Riverview UMC. He enjoyed riding Harleys with special friends for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Mark B. Herbert, Sr. and wife JoAnn, daughter; Dana H. Caride and husband Gilbert, six grandchildren; Bryan (Jennifer) Kimberly (Jeremy), Harlan, Heston, Tiffany (Israel), Burney, and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
