Manuel J. Oliveira, 97, of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Warren Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center. He was the husband of Arline L. (Cottrell) Oliveira, they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this upcoming November 3rd.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph and Hortense (Reis) Oliveira, he had been a long time resident of Tiverton. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was a foreman woodworker for Harvey Probber Co. of Fall River for 28 years. Mr. Oliveira enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
The Oliveira family would like to give their thanks to the Warren Center for their kind and compassionate care.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 daughters: Linda M. Watts of Somerset and Donna J. Merski of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Stephen, Kristin, Ian and Lauren; 2 great grandchildren: Kennedy and Avery; and many nieces and nephews.
