Obituary

WEBSTER – Vincent Saladino, 78, died Monday, September 14, 2015 in Brookside Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of almost 60 years, Geraldine L. (Barry) Saladino; a son, Stephen J. Saladino and his wife Karen of Webster; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Thomas Saladino, Alicia Marie Saladino, Derek Lewis, Stephen Lewis and Rick Lewis; a brother, Melchiore Saladino and his wife Clara of Hudson; 2 sisters, Anna Ricardo and Mary Melanson, both of Melrose; several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 children, Thomas J. Saladino, Carmela Marie Saladino and Vincent J. Saladino and by his brother Gaspare.
He was born and raised in Cambridge, son of Melchiore and Mildred (Blanda) Saladino. He lived in North Andover, Wilmington, Bellingham, and Vero Beach, FL before moving to Webster in 1998.
He served in the Army National Guard for 4 years. He was a demolition expert and a sharpshooter.
Mr. Saladino was a truck driver and mechanic for several trucking companies including Harnum Trucking in Wilmington. He retired in 2001.
He enjoyed fishing. He was a jack of all trades and master of several.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Saint Michael’s Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St., Boston. There are no calling hours. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
