Obituary

Homer S. Paquette 98, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Therese R. (Morelle) Paquette. Homer was born in Woonsocket, RI and made his family home in Cumberland since 1954. He was the son of the late Homer and Anna (Brouillette) Paquette.

Homer graduated from St. Ann’s School, Woonsocket and Eymard Seminary in Suffern, NY. He attended Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament Seminary in Cleveland, OH. During WWII he enlisted as an Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Force and was discharged from the B29 Flight Engineer School in Amarillo, TX. He returned to Woonsocket to work as a precision machinist for the Taft Pierce Mfg. Co. and retired in 1979 after thirty nine years. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, served as President of the Little Rhody Lodge and was a member of the Grievance Committee.

He leaves two sons, George Paquette of North Scituate, RI and Philip Paquette of Saunderstown, RI, and three grandchildren.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd. Cumberland. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd. East Providence, RI 02914, in his memory would be appreciated.
