Obituary

Anna Mae Ashe, 99, of Franklin formerly of Worcester, died September 3 in the Forge Hill Senior Living.
Born in Worcester October 6, 1915, the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (McDermott) Ashe, Miss Ashe was raised and lived in Worcester until moving to Franklin, 4 years ago.
She had worked for many years as an office manager at IBM in Worcester. After retirement she volunteered at Fairlawn Hospital gift shop and St. Paul’s Cathedral where she was an active member.
Anna enjoyed crocheting and knitting and made many beautiful items for her loved ones. She spent many years taking care of her mother and spent a lot of time with her sister Marion’s family.
She was a fashion trendsetter and known for being witty and kind. She was loved by those fortunate to know her.
She was the sister of the late William, Francis and Charles Ashe and Marion (Ashe) Lawson.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Anne Lawson of Rotunda West, FL, James Lawson of Venice, Fl., Mary Donahue of Franklin, Kate Martel of Holyoke, Joanne Mullowney of Wellesley, Elizabeth Bennett of Hudson, William Ashe of Whitinsville, Michael, Francis and Marion Ashe of California and the late Frank Ashe of West Roxbury.
She is also survived by many great- nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17 in St. Paul’s Cathedral, Worcester at 11:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Leicester.
