Obituary

Sr. Estelle Lefebvre, PM, (Sr. Ste. Marie-de-la-Nativite), 95, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester, died September 13, 2015.
She was born in Providence, RI on April 19, 1920 to Hermas and Delphine (Malo) Lefebvre. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1939 and pronounced her final vows in 1948.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Catholic Teacher’s College in Providence in 1952. She also earned a master’s degree in education in 1959 and received a Library of Science Certificate in 1973, both from Rivier University in Nashua.
Sr. Estelle taught elementary school in New Hampshire and Rhode Island for 34 years. She served as local superior at St. Ambrose in Albion, RI and at Christ the King in West Warwick, RI. During the summer months, she was a librarian aide at Regina Library at Rivier University. She was a school librarian at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson from 1977 to 1995. She retired to Marie Rivier Cenacle in Hudson in 1995 and transferred to St. Joseph Residence in Manchester in 2001.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Clarinda; and two brother priests from the Diocese of Providence, Fr. Henri Lefebvre and Fr. Andre Lefebvre.
The family includes nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
