James Benjamin Trowell, Jr., 79, of Douglas, died September 12, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk and the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Mr. Trowell was born March 31, 1936, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late James Benjamin & Nora Cox Trowell. He was a former crane operator for Foster & Harris and the Broward County, Florida Road Department. He moved to Douglas in 1998 following his retirement. Mr. Trowell loved to fish and enjoyed spending time on the tractor. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Jackie Marie Griffin Trowell of Douglas as well as a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Becky Trowell of Douglas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Teresa “Sissy” Kinnett Trowell as well as all ten of his siblings.
