Irving Taub, 96, of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Edith (Kanter) Taub, formerly of Revere, died September 12th at the Aviv Centers for Living, Peabody surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Abraham and Eva (Taylor) Taub.
Raised and educated in Boston, he was a graduate of Northeastern University with continued education at MIT. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and continued as a civilian at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard for 35 years as a Naval Architect.
Irving had a lifelong passion for singing beginning with the Handel and Hayden Society in Boston in his youth and continuing as a 50 year member of the Temple B’Nai Israel Choir. He was past Master of the Henry Price Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree mason and Shriner.
He is survived by his daughter Audrey Taub of Burlington and his son Howard Taub of Charlestown and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George and Robert Taub. His funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park Sharon, MA Wednesday Sept 16th at 10AM followed by interment. Memorial visitations will be at his late residence, on Wednesday from 1-4 PM and 6-8PMThursday evening 6-8pm and Friday 10AM-12.
