Obituary

Nelson E. Randall, 74, of Londonderry, NH died peacefully on Thursday September 10, 2015 at the Merrimack Community Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Randall was born on June 30, 1941 the first son of Milo and Margaret (Wompole) Randall in Bath, NY. He was raised in upstate NY and entered the United States Marine Corp when he was just 17 years old. Mr. Randall proudly served his country serving 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a decorated Marine earning multiple medals, including 2 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star.
Mr. Randall worked many years as a truck driver for H.R. Ritter in Wilmington MA, Apple Yard Trucking in Methuen MA, and Florida Rock in Pensacola FL.
The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his loving family, and he especially enjoyed traveling with Joan his wife of 52 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid reader, golfer, and dog lover. Mr. Randall was a member of the Masonic Temple Bible Lodge #41 in Goffstown, NH.
Family members include his wife Joan (Peddle), one son, Mike Randall of Manchester NH, one daughter, Christine Randall of Manchester NH, two grandsons, William R. Provenzano, and Anthony R. Provenzano, both of Manchester NH, one brother, James W. Randall and his wife Sandra of Gulfport, MS, one sister, Jacqueline Kendall of Albermarle, NC. He also leaves many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his beloved dog Bailey. He will be greatly missed by each and every one of them. Mr. Randall is predeceased by his parents Milo and Margaret Randall, his brother Owen Randall, and his grandson Ryan Provenzano.
At the family’s request there are no calling hours. A celebration of Nelson’s life was held Friday September 18, 2015 at 9:00am at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial with honors followed at 11:00am in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. The Peabody Funeral Homes of Derry and Londonderry assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
