John Michael Mustone, 65 of North Reading, an electrical engineer, passed suddenly on May 15 while vacationing in Switzerland. Originally from Stoneham, he was a lifelong resident of North Reading. A dedicated volunteer in the Boy Scouts, he was instrumental in providing countless training courses to educate Scouts and Scouters regarding a wide ranging set of skills.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Muriel and was the loving father of his daughter and three sons, Timothy and his wife Mea of Medford, James and his wife Tara of Hanover, Melissa (Mustone) Nichols and her husband Matt of Rowley and Andrew and his wife Kristina of Lynn. He was a loving Papa and dearly cherished spending time with his treasured grandchildren, Gillian, Quinn, Mark, Bryan and Teagan.
He was the caring son – in – law to Muriel Taylor of Reading and is also survived by his sisters Mary Gargano of Wakefield, Theresa Mustone of Stoneham, Barbara Earl of Florida, Carol Ellis of Stoneham, and his brother Christie Mustone of North Reading. He was the fond uncle to thirty one nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass celebrating John’s life will be held on Monday at 11am in St. Theresa’s Church 63 Winter St. (RT 62) North Reading. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 2-7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, W. Peabody.
