Florence R. (Desruisseaux) Wheeler, 70 of Windham, NH died Wednesday September 9, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness. Florence was born in Manchester, NH on March 4, 1945, a daughter of the late Eugene and Georgianna (Desmarais) Desruisseaux. She was a resident of Windham for 45 years, formerly living in Manchester. Florence enjoyed being an active member of her community, including her membership with the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge. Auntie Fo Fo, as she was affectionately known by her family, wanted her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends to know how she loved them and how much joy they added to her life.
She is survived her son, Edward A. Wheeler and his wife Joyce Adele of Derry, NH, her daughter, Janet L. Saunders and her husband Thomas of Windham, six grandchildren, Amanda Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Dani Beth Wheeler, Zakariah Wheeler, Jared Wheeler, and James Saunders; two great-grandchildren, James Andrews and Denim Rosado; three brothers, Edward Desruisseaux, Robert Desruisseaux, and Maurice Desruisseaux; four sisters, Cecile Labrie, Claire McGibbons, Renee Shaw, and Donna Armstrong; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Felicia J. Provenzano.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Monday September 14, 2015 from 3 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The Derry-Salem Elks Lodge will perform a ritual at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Shepards Pantry, 1 Church St., Windham, NH 03087.
