Joseph Franklin "Joe" Jackson
March 29, 1932 - Sept. 7, 2015


Joseph Franklin "Joe" Jackson, 83, of Anderson, died September 7, 2015, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.

Joe was born March 29, 1932 in Anderson to Roy and Ruby (Garrett) Jackson.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957.

He was a school teacher and coach at Highland High School and Anderson High School for 32 years.

He is survived by his son, Joseph B (Joni) Jackson; daughter, Julie Porter; daughter-in-law, Jan Jackson; eight grandchildren, Garrett, Casey, Carly, Ashley, Lacey, Jillyan, Simon and Brittany; four great-grandchildren, Kynslie, Kennedi, Mia and Kyle; siblings, Mary Sheffield, Jerry (Phyllis) Brown, Judy (Bob) Sellers; Phil Jackson; David (Beth) Beeson, Betty Jane (Jim) McCary and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Monna (Scott) Jackson whom he married Dec. 19, 1953 in Anderson; son, Bob Jackson and grandson, Jordan Upton.

Special thanks to Dr. Harb of the ICU at Community Hospital and caregivers during his time of illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Thurs. September 17, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Bill Mathys of First United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wed. Sept. 16 at the funeral home.
