Obituary

SCARBOROUGH (Dunstan)- George Reichert, age 82, of Church St., passed away on Sept. 10, 2015 after a period of declining health at his home in Scarborough.
He was born in Baltimore, MD, on Oct. 2, 1933, the son of the late George Reichert Sr. and Annie Eldora (Rickett) Walker.
He served in the U.S. Army both stateside and in Germany. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #76 in Scarborough. Being an auto mechanic was something that he really enjoyed. He was always fixing up his truck or helping someone else with their automobile problems. He also enjoyed woodworking.
George is survived by his son Gordon and his wife Cindy of Gorham; son David and his wife Shirley of Portland; son Mark and his wife Lori of Limerick; his brother William Reichert of Newmarket, NH; a sister Barbara Kent of Waterboro; his companion of five years Gerda Watson; cousins Sis and Baz who live in NJ and Clare and Babe who live in GA. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and grandchildren who were special to him.
A memorial service will be held this Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 PM at the Living Hope Church, 40 Portland St. in Portland.
