Marie Laure ‘Laura’ (Ouellette) Le Blanc, 100 passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Grosvenor Park in Salem following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerard J. Le Blanc with whom she had shared 71 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Marie Laure (Leveille) Ouellette. A graduate of Marion Court, Laura devoted most of her time to her family and her very large extended family. She was a quiet, gracious lady who loved being with and caring for children as well as gardening and pampering her flowers and especially her roses. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and Les Dames de la Ste. Famille, one of the parish sodalities.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance M. Claveau and her husband George of Salem, Her brothers, Leo Ouellette of Chicopee, Andre Ouellette and his wife Louise of Florida, three grandchildren, Gerard Claveau and his wife Ellen of Salem, David Claveau and his wife Stephanie of Georgetown and Julie Cummings of Lynn. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Carolyn Rose Claveau, Jacqueline Olivia Claveau, Samantha Laurel Claveau, Heather Lynn Cummings, Isabel Yvonne Claveau and Jacob Patrick Cummings, as well as many nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her sisters, Cecile Le Blanc, Rita Dubin, Helen Bouchard, Annette Martineau, Irene Breault, and brothers, J. Richard, Gerard P., G. Henry, Paul N. & Edward Ouellette and her granddaughter’s husband James Cummings.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 9:30 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 10:30 A.M.
