FAIRHAVEN — Rosalyn W. Pierce, age 87 years of Fairhaven, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 peacefully at home after a period of declining health. She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Bradford I. Pierce. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence P. Wing and Mildred Deane Wing and sister of the late Dr. Richard L. Wing.
She was a member of the Wing family of America and also descendants of Whaling Masters. She could proudly trace her ancestry back to the Pilgrim's Mayflower Crossing in 1620.
She was beloved by her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening as well as collecting miniature whales and lighthouses, and baked the best ever chocolate chip cookies. She adored the scent of lavender and the color purple.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sister Priscilla Alden Taylor of Fairhaven. She is also survived by her son Dana, his wife Susan, and their children Caitlin and Nathan and his wife Ofelia. She is also survived by her younger son Gary, his wife Gail and their children Lindsey and Arwyn and her husband Bill; and their four children Saliese, David, Andrew and Joyanne.
Her funeral will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 11 A.M. in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, with friends being received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m, prior to the service. Burial will be private.
