Life began on July 8, 1959 for Cheryl Lynne Willis who was born to the union of Joyce Houtman Levias and the late Zanafray L. Willis. Cheryl passed away on January 26, 2015. In accordance with her wishes, Cheryl was cremated. Cheryl was a member of Bethel AME Church of New Bedford and a graduate of the 1978 class of New Bedford High School. She was a licensed Certified Nurses' Aide and a home health aide.
Cheryl had a love of reading and organic things, and loved learning what was unknown to the rest of us. The love she had for that was only surpassed by her love of her daughter, family, and friends. She was truly one of a kind and will never be replaced, and as we grieve for her she is in a much better place with God and pain free. She is survived by her daughter Taaury Willis and her fiancé Jonathan Paquette of New Bedford, her parents Joyce Houtman and Ray Levias of Taunton and Virginia, her brother Tracy Leary of New Bedford, her step-brothers Rev Sean Levias and his wife DeAndrea, Dr. Sheldon Levias and his wife Lucia of Seattle Washington, her aunt Gloria H. Hill of Columbia, Maryland, and cousins Jason Hill and his wife Lauren of New Bedford, and Melanie Hill-Irby of Columbia, Maryland. She is also survived by her best friends Janice Hathaway of New Bedford and Melissa Slaughter Swingler of New Jersey, and family friend Ivan Gonzalez and his wife who were very helpful toward the end of Cheryl's life.
