Obituary

Coughlin, Joseph F. a longtime resident of Milton, formerly of West Roxbury passed away after a brief illness on Friday September 4, 2015 in Jamaica Plain. Mr. Coughlin was 83 years old and the beloved husband of the late Alice J. (Winn) Coughlin. He is survived by his loving children, Mary Lou Paquin and her husband Chris of Grafton, Joanne Coughlin of West Roxbury and Alicia Coughlin of Quincy. He was also the cherished grandfather of Rebecca R. Paquin, Jacob M. Paquin and Amanda N. Paquin all of Grafton. Other survivors include his sister-in-law Mary Coughlin and nephews Paul, Michael, Kevin, John, Jim, Bob. Joseph was also a loving brother to the late Mary Lou Coughlin and Paul Coughlin.

Born September 5, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, Joseph was a son to the late Joseph F. Coughlin and Alice Catherine (McMahon). He attended Boston Public Schools. Mr. Coughlin was a Letter Carrier for most of his working career and retired from the Postal Annex in downtown Boston after over 20 years of dedicated service. Joe was also a member of the Milton Highlanders and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visiting hours will be held at the P.E. Murray – F.J Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre Street, West Roxbury, Tuesday September 8, from 4pm – 8pm and Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 10 A.M. All are invited to attend. Interment will follow in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, MA/RI Chapter, 220 N. Main Street, Natick,MA 01760 in Joe’s memory would be appreciated.
