Hilda (Teixeira) Costa, 92, of New Bedford passed away September 5, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Manuel L. Costa.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Simas) Teixeira, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Costa was formerly employed as a stitcher at Cape Cod Sportswear for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing with her husband and reading.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Costa and his wife Sue of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Brenda DeMello of Fall River and Barbara Gonsalves and her husband Steve of Chicopee; a sister, Inez Teixeira of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was the grandmother of the late Thomas DeMello and Rhonda Franco.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 AM. Burial with follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, September 8th from 4-8 PM.
