Kenneth Leo “Ken” Walsh, Sr., age 63, died, Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Augusta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 6, 2015 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Brother Greg Gunby officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 12:30 until 2:00 before the service.
Ken was born on July 21, 1952, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Ed Owen, Jr., and Gwennell Kimbrell Walsh. Ken was a graduate of the Police Academy in 1979; he served for many years on Fitzgerald Police Department; he also lived in Long Branch, New Jersey, where he owned and operated a Limo Service; before he returned to Valdosta, where he served on the Valdosta Police Department. He was a truck driver with DavCor. Inc, and was a hard working devoted family man.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Lillian Reedy Walsh of Nashville, Georgia; his children and their spouses, Melissa W. Gill and husband Jessy of Moah, UT, Michelle W. Thompson and husband Michael of Valdosta, Kenneth Leo Walsh, Jr. and wife Red of Valdosta, Ryan Walsh and Fiancé Kortny Marshall of Valdosta, Heidi W. Kelehar and husband David of Valdosta, Brittany W. Justiss and Aaron Walsh both of Nashville. Sixteen Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: John Owen Walsh and wife Lisa of the Philippines; sisters and brother-in-law: Bette Nell W. Bryant, Linda W. Cravey and Annette W. Mock and husband Bobby all of Fitzgerald. His parents preceded him in death.
