Pembroke - Janis L. (Hobbs) Johnson 69 of Pembroke died Wednesday September 2 at her home after a short illness.
Born in Boston in 1946, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Mildred (Ormistron) (Hobbs) Mattinson.
For the past 44 years Janis had been a warm and familiar member of the Whitman Community, owning and operating “Millie’s Lunch” since 1971.
She leaves behind her sister Judith L. Swank of Brooksville, FL, her brother John L. Mattinson of Pembroke, her two sons John R. Johnson and his wife Nancy of Marshfield, and Dana W. Johnson and his wife Jenny of Carver and her daughter Janeen L. Bouchard of Carver, her granddaughters Logan R. and Quinn L. Bouchard and a granddaughter expected to “arrive” later this month. She also leaves behind her step-brother James Hobbs of Marston Mills and her step-sister Elaine Sawyer of Sandwich as well as her many friends.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday September 12th at 1:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00AM- 1:00PM.
