Irene (Blaisdell) Mitchell, 101, of Terrace Avenue, Noank and formerly of Norwich and Montville, died Friday at Greentree Manor in Waterford after an extended illness.. She was born in Sydney Maine on April 12, 1901, the daughter of Arthur E. and Mamie (Leighton) Blaisdell. She married Frank Tillinghast Mitchell in 1931. He died in 1952. Mrs. Mitchell worked for 55 years at Robertson Paper Box in Montville, retiring in 1972.She was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Montville, a member of Oweneco, and past matron and a member for 65 years in the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alden F. and Josephine Mitchell of Noank and a sister, Ruth (Blaisdell) Rogers of Waterford, formerly of Montville, grandchildrena nd great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter, Esther R. Womack who died in 1973.. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 6-8pm.
