Obituary

Lillian M. R. (Levesque) LeBlanc, 93 of Danvers, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Desire J. LeBlanc with whom she had shared 65 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Pascal O. and Arthemise M. (Madore) Levesque and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy Class of ’42. As a young woman, Lillian first worked for General Electric and Sylvania before beginning her career as a teacher at St. Joseph School kindergarten and later taught third grade. Lillian always considered her teaching the best years of her life and always remembered and loved the more than 400 children she taught.

Following her teaching career, she was employed by by the Sears Credit Department, Auger Insurance Co. and the Soucy Insurance Co. all of Salem

A life long parishioner of the former St. Joseph Parish, she was active in many of the parish programs and fund raising events. She helped organize the Bowling League as well as the very successful parish Bingo. She was secretary for the St. Joseph Alumni Association and a former president of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille one of the parish sodalities.

Lillian enjoyed reading, family poker nights and Sunday evening family suppers. She was a deeply religious woman who was truly grateful for her many gifts in life. She truly believed she had been blessed with a great life. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, George F. LeBlanc of Danvers, and her daughter Beatrice L. ‘Bea’ Devereux of Lynn, a sister, Marie L. Clement of Danvers, 5 grandchildren, Michelle Doolin and her husband George of Lynn, Mark Cormier and his wife Lisa of Reading, Karen Dealy and her husband John of Westford, Michael Le Blanc and his wife Stacey of San Antonio, TX, Scott LeBlanc and his wife Lisa of Saugus. She also leaves 7 great-grandchildren, Jared, Lily, Lauren, Allison, Jack, Erin and Thomas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her six brothers, Oscar, Lucien, Leo, Laurier, Wilfred, William and five sisters, , Lina Pare, Noella Ouellette, Infant Theresa, Lucille Languirand and Theresa McCauley.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 8:45 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Tuesday, September 8th from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M.
