Obituary

Mildred (Laidlaw) Walsh, 97, of Bellingham, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Norwood Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Thomas P. Walsh, Jr. who died in 1999.

Born in East Boston on August 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Johnson) Laidlaw.

Mrs. Walsh was a resident of Bellingham for the past 14 years and had formerly resided in Franklin for 38 years.

She was a graduate of East Boston High School and the Boston State Teacher’s College.

Mrs. Walsh taught 4th grade in Medway public schools for 15 years.

She is survived by three daughters Mildred Emond and her husband John of Somersworth, New Hampshire, Janet M. Walsh of Bellingham and Carol W. Maupas and her husband Gary of Medway and a son Thomas P. Walsh, III and his wife Michele of Marietta, Georgia.

She is also survived by four granddaughters, Cheryl Toms, Debra April, Christine Walsh and Caitlin Walsh, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her seven siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Friday, September 4 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m.

Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday, September 8 at 1:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mildred’s memory to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 4, Medway, MA 02053.
