Obituary


WORCESTER - Mr. Raffaele “Ralph” M. Lorusso, 85, passed away Saturday, August 29th at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Ralph is survived by his wife of thirty seven years, Jean (Lemanksi) Lorusso; two sons, Michael Lorusso and Jack Lorusso, both of Worcester; two daughters, Mary Jo Grogan and her husband Dennis of Iowa and Elaine Amorello of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jill, Julie, Krystal, Anthony, Regina, Lia; nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his former wife and friend, Ann (Giustino) Lorusso.

Ralph was pre-deceased by his two sisters, Antoinette Lindquist and Esther DiBara.

Ralph was born on September 6, 1929 in Viesta Foggia, Italy a son of the late Michele and Maria Giuseppa (Gentile) Lorusso.

He came to the United States with his family at an early age, settling in Worcester. Ralph was a graduate of Commerce High School and Trenton University.

He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Ralph received two bronze stars for his service. Ralph worked for Norton Company for over thirty years before retiring.

First and foremost, he loved being with his family. He was an avid sports fan, participating in a few wagers and traveling frequently to casinos and horse tracks over the years.

The Lorusso family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Cancer Center and the Auburn VNA and Hospice for their kindness and professionalism during Ralph’s care.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 3rd from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St., Worcester. There will be no church service and burial will be private.
