Obituary

Fitzgerald “Jerry” Allen passed away August 28 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 9, 1926 to Mina and Cliff Allen in Long Beach. He attended First Lutheran Grade School and graduated in 1944 from Poly High School in Long Beach. Jerry and Helen were married February 21, 1948 in Long Beach. Jerry’s life
was one of service, having served in the Navy during WW ll, the Air Force during the Korean War, and the Long Beach Police Department as an officer until his retirement in 1978. Jerry and his wife Helen moved to Hemet in 1979.
During his retirement, Jerry was actively involved with the Hemet Breakfast Lion’s Club, San Jacinto/Hemet Chamber of Commerce, and was a founding member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Hemet.
In 2013, Jerry and Helen relocated to Ventura to be closer to family.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Helen, his daughters, Pam Inoshita (Arthur) of Ventura,
Deborah Allen Fehervary of Michigan, two granddaughters Allison Inoshita (Oren Saig) of Sherman Oaks,
and Bethany Inoshita (Travis Dasnoit) of Ojai, three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Thea Fisher and brother Arnold Allen and his beloved dog, Pepper. Through all the ups and downs in life, his family meant everything to him.
Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held September 11 at 11:45 at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495
Van Buren Blvd., Riverside. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 701 N. Sanderson Avenue, Hemet, CA, 92545.
Jerry has been entrusted to the care of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura.
