Lucas, Virginia A. (Shack) of Mission Hill Aug. 29th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Joseph W. Lucas. Born in Mission Hill she was the loving daughter of the late Mark and Mary Ellen (Hurley) Shack. Devoted mother of Virginia A. “Mickie” and her husband John Sullivan, Joseph W. Jr. and Ann Lalime, Nancy M. and her husband Peter Chuilli and Mark N. and his wife Diana. Also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday morning Sept. 3rd at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, “The Mission Church” at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4pm – 8pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment St Joseph Cemetery. Virginia found special joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; always loving their visits. Her cribbage playing was legendary.
